Guide | Posa Journal

A How-To Guide

The Everyday Bullet offers a mix of daily, monthly, and long-term spreads designed to support your self-reflection, creativity, organization, and personal growth. Here’s a guide to help you understand the various sections and spreads. But know that your interpretation and intention are what matter most. Use what resonates, skip what doesn’t, and feel free to make it entirely your own.

2026 | The Everyday Bullet Journal

🔑 The Key

This is an expanded version of the original Bullet Journal key by Ryder Carroll. Use it to mark tasks, events, notes, appointments, birthdays, locations, and so much more. It’s a helpful system to carry through your journal. You’ll get the hang of it quickly and possibly even add new symbols yourself!

🧭 Intentions

Set your intentions for the year. Think of them as the vibe, not the checklist. (We’ve got a whole other spread for goals!) Intentions are about how you want to feel, grow, and show up in your life, not just what you want to do.

🗓 Year at a Glance

Start by noting down birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, upcoming trips, and other important events. Use this page for anything you’d like to see at a glance throughout the year.

🔁 Then & Again

A fun reflection activity. Think of this as your own mini time-travel experiment! Prompts run down the center of the page. Answer them at the start of the year on the left side, and again at the end of the year on the right. See how much has changed (or stayed the same)!

📚 Bookshelf

When you finish reading a book, add it to your shelf by sketching a small rectangle and in it write the title, author, and date. For audiobooks, you could doodle tiny headphones.

✨ Memorable Moments

At the end of each month, choose one moment that stands out. Use the space to capture it. It could be a drawing, ticket stub, collage, sticker, or note. Make it meaningful to you.

🩺 Care Team & Medications

List your primary care doctor, dentist, therapist, eye doctor, acupuncturist; anyone on your health team. Track medications, supplements, and vitamins. It’s a handy reference for doctor visits and a real time-saver. Bonus: your doctors will be impressed!

💼 Resume Updates

Keep a running list of new skills, achievements, and responsibilities. Include volunteer work or community involvement. This page will be gold when it’s time to update your resume.

🎁 Gift Ideas

Capture gift ideas as they come to you, no more forgetting what you meant to buy when birthdays or holidays roll around. Thoughtful and stress-free.

🎯 Quarterly Goals

Each quarter, you’ve got space to set up to four goals. Start by naming your goal in the first row, then in the second row, jot down why it matters to you (this part’s important!). The next three rows are for quick monthly check-ins to see how things are going. At the bottom, there’s space to reflect, and a progress bar to fill in, because who doesn’t love a little visual motivation?

📅 Planner

Here is where you will put that key to work! Each two-week spread includes space in the top header for notes, lists, or doodles, whatever you need to keep things flowing.

🙏 Gratitude

One page per month with a line for each day. Jot down one thing you’re grateful for daily. It’s a powerful practice, even when kept simple.

🪞 Reflections

At the end of each month, take time to reflect. Use the dedicated page to process, celebrate, and observe what the past month held for you.

📝 Blank Pages

You’ll find blank pages sprinkled throughout your journal, plus plenty at the end. Use these however you like. Extend your monthly reflection, create custom spreads such as meal plans, running logs, habit tracker, the options are endless.

⚖️ Control Exercise

Periodically visit this circle chart to jot down what’s in your control and what’s not. This can be a useful tool for tough days to regain clarity and grounding.

✅ Rolling To-Do Lists

Some tasks just keep rolling over. This spread includes five categorized lists, change it as needed to suit your life.

🧠 Brain Dump

Free up mental space by dumping everything swirling in your mind onto the page. Do it once or as often as needed.

🎬 Shows & Movies

Log what you watch throughout the year. Add brief commentary, ratings, or reactions; whatever feels fun!

🤔 Tough Decisions

Big or small, tough choices come up. Use this spread to sort out your thoughts, whether it’s about moving, switching careers, or choosing between two ice cream flavors.

🖼 Photo Spread

A visual snapshot of your year, with space for two 2×3 photos per month. Choose your favorite moments to highlight. I love using the HP Sprocket printer; it prints on sticky paper for easy placement. Feel free to use the method that works best for you.

🌬 Centering Exercise

Similar to the control exercise. Revisit this circle regularly, adding insights both inside and outside the circle. Use it to reflect and recenter on difficult days.

💬 Positive Affirmations

A powerful space to challenge negative self-talk and build self-worth. Add affirmations that uplift, empower, and support your growth.

📝 Quotes

Write them down, paste them in, or decorate the page with your favorite quotes. Let this space inspire you.

📌 Recommendations

TV shows, books, podcasts, there’s always something being recommended, and its easy to forget! Capture them on this page for when you’re ready to dive into something new.

📆 Future Log

Yes, it may feel wild to plan for 2027, but it’s helpful! Use this section for anything scheduled beyond this year: weddings, appointments, events. Transfer to your next Posa Journal when the time comes.

🎇 End-of-Year Reflections

We offer you a list of prompts to help you look back and reflect on the year. Choose a few or create your own.
