Posa Newsletter
Hi friends,
I’m fighting off a mild cold. I thought we were done with this, but here we are. Des is napping peacefully. My baby is so good to me.
It is now March. January began with fresh pages and good intentions. February carried a little of that momentum. But by March, life may feel a bit full. Schedules fill up, energy dips, the weather is confusing, colds are still going around, and the constant effort to create new habits and be a better version of ourselves may start to feel like too much. Suddenly, the journal that felt comforting starts to feel like one more thing you’re behind on. One more thing to do.
Though I hope this is not the case for you, if it is, you’re not alone. Nor are you behind. It’s impossible to be behind in a relationship with yourself.
I often get, I missed too many days, and I don’t know how to pick back up.
The empty pages can feel intimidating because they quietly ask us to notice how we are actually doing. Avoiding the journal isn’t laziness; it’s often overwhelm, tiredness, or not knowing how to name our feelings.
So, in March, we’re not catching up on missed entries. Ain’t nobody got time for that. We’re simply beginning again. (If you’ve kept up with your journal, you can still follow along below!)
In this reset, I invite you to open up to the March Gratitude page and fill in that first line. Write…
a phrase: I’m grateful for our home and our community.
a word: Sunshine.
a series of words (my favorite): Sunshine. Fresh air. Friends. Sleep.
a full-on detailed sentence: I’m so grateful for Desi napping on the weekend so I can rest and catch up!
Take a deep breath and write down whatever comes to you. There is no wrong way to be grateful.
Next, read through your intentions (page 2). This will serve as a gentle reminder from the you earlier this year.
Before you go on to filling in your planner with the numerous tasks, reminders, appointments, etc., flip over to the brain dump (page 51-52) and U N L O A D. Remove the noise from your head so you can approach the week ahead with more clarity. It doesn’t need to be thought out or legible.
One more thing, flip over to the Positive Affirmations (page 94) and give yourself some LOVE! When was the last time you recognized the wonderful parts that make you uniquely you? If it’s hard to come up with an affirmation, here are some suggestions to try: I am enough. I am grateful. I am loved.
Ok, now is a good time to dive into the March planner (page 33) and get ready for the weeks ahead. Any birthdays coming up? Create a task to buy a card or send a text. Are there errands you need to run on certain days? Oh, and it’s daylight savings on Sunday, March 8; make sure to note it down. De nada!
End-of-the-month Checklist
- February Reflections (page 30)
- Quarterly goals check-in for any goals you may have set this quarter. (page 15). It’s okay if the progress bar has not moved.
- February photospread! Select 2 photos that sum up or highlight your February (page 70). BTW, I am still trying to get y’all an HP Sprocket coupon!
- Memorable Moments. Anything you can cut and glue or tape that brings you back to a meaningful moment can go there (page 9). For me, it’s the Rapidash Pokémon card to symbolize the year of the fire horse this Lunar New Year!
Podcast Recommendation
I recently listened to a Life Kit podcast that really stuck with me. It’s called 7 kinds of rest (other than sleep). The host, Marielle, talks with Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith about her book, Sacred Rest, and they break down the seven types of rest: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, sensory, and creative. They give insights into the signs that an area might be depleted and what true, restorative rest might look like. Very interesting conversation that offers a more intentional and targeted approach to rest. And who doesn’t need a little bit of rest! I highly recommend giving it a listen (25 minutes). I’ll be reading Dr. Dalton-Smith’s book soon if anyone wants to read along.
Before I close, I want to share that I’d like to add a testimonials page to the Posa Journals website. Real feedback from real users. If your Posa journal has meant something to you or supported you in any way, big or small, I would be so grateful if you’d take a moment to complete this survey with just a sentence or two. It would mean so much for me and the future of my little business. Mil gracias!
As always, thank you for being here.
Happy Journaling!
